From 1st August 2007 a mandatory item of the Home Information Pack is an Energy Performance Certificate. This is an individual efficiency rating for the home based on a series of assumptions and not related to the people who live, or will be living in the home.

The report will show the ‘current efficiency’ and the ‘potential efficiency’ on a chart with ratings from A—G. Recommendations are included in the report to show how the potential rating can be achieved with likely savings you would make on the energy costs.
